Hate crimes and discrimination
If you have been assaulted, threatened, harassed or discriminated against because of your origin, your skin colour, your religion, your sexual orientation, your gender identity or your disability, we support you in reporting it and defending your rights.
You can write to us in Spanish, English, French, Italian, Arabic or Darija (Moroccan Arabic).
What we handle
- Reporting assaults, threats, insults or harassment on discriminatory grounds.
- Joining the criminal proceedings as a private prosecutor (acusación particular), so that the victim is a party to the case and can ask for the offender to be punished and for compensation.
- Hate messages on social media and online.
- Discrimination at work.
- Discrimination when looking for housing, when entering an establishment or when receiving a service.
- Discriminatory treatment by a public authority.
Keep the evidence
Take screenshots that show the date and the profile or the link, do not delete the messages and write down the names of those who saw what happened. If you have been assaulted, see a doctor and ask for a report of your injuries.
Committed to human rights
We defend people who seek international protection, victims of hate crimes and discrimination, and those who need to assert their rights against the public authorities. We work in a border city, with clients from many backgrounds, and we assist them in their own language.
What to bring to your first appointment
- Your identity document.
- The criminal complaint (denuncia), if you have already filed one, and any notification from the court.
- The screenshots, messages, medical reports and the names of the witnesses.
